Abdullah Bin Zayed Arrives in Washington to Sign UAE-Israel Peace Treaty

The UAE Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, arrived in Washington D.C., heading a high-level UAE delegation, to participate in the signing ceremony of the UAE-Israel peace accord on Tuesday. The event will witness the presence of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, as reported by the Emirates News Agency.

Abdullah bin Zayed is visiting the United States on behalf of the Head of State, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, and at the invitation of the US President, Donald Trump.

The high level delegation comprises Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Cabinet Member and Minister of Economy; Obaid bin Humaid Al Tayer, Minister of State for Financial Affairs; Reem bint Ibrahim Al Hashemy, Minister of State for International Cooperation; Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Cabinet Member and Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology; Yousef Al-Otaiba, UAE Ambassador to the United States of America, along with a number of officials.

The Israeli Prime Minister had said on Twitter that "the signing ceremony will be the basis for the peace treaty between Israel and the Emirates" that was concluded last August.

“I am proud to go to Washington next week, at the invitation of President Trump, and to attend the historic White House ceremony to establish the peace agreement between Israel and the United Arab Emirates!”, he added.

It is worth mentioning that, the peace deal between Tel Aviv and Abu Dhabi was announced on August 13.
