An informed American source revealed that President Donald Trump will meet next Wednesday with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss "how to end the war," on the sidelines of the NATO summit in Ankara, where Trump arrives tomorrow, Tuesday, according to a White House announcement.
The source pointed out that the battlefield between Russia and Ukraine has clearly frozen over the past two months, with neither side making any significant progress. President Trump feels an urgent need to stop this situation, and he will also urge NATO allies to increase their defense spending.
The Turkish capital, Ankara, is hosting the NATO Leaders' Summit on July 7 and 8, amid one of the most sensitive phases in the history of the alliance, which was founded in 1949.
This comes in light of rising tensions between the United States and its European allies over the Iran war, as well as continued U.S. pressure to redistribute defense burdens within the alliance.
