The Korean Cultural Center (KCC) launched its new K-Beauty Academy, bringing authentic Korean beauty expertise to Egypt through a series of interactive workshops led by renowned Korean beauty specialist Ahra Kang.
Running from July 5 to 9, the initiative responds to the growing popularity of Korean dramas and K-pop in Egypt, which has fueled increasing interest in Korean skincare, makeup techniques, and personal styling among Egyptian audiences.
Designed to showcase the latest K-beauty trends, the academy offers a comprehensive, hands-on learning experience to participants in personal color analysis, skincare, and makeup. Participants will have the opportunity to directly learn from a leading Korean beauty expert while gaining practical skills and insights into Korea's beauty industry.
The K-Beauty Academy will feature 16 sessions and welcome approximately 200 participants. The program kicks off with an opening ceremony paired with a special lecture on contemporary K-beauty trends, followed by 15 intensive, hands-on practical sessions. To ensure an engaging and personalized learning experience, workshops will be conducted in small groups of up to 20 participants, allowing for close interaction with the instructor and individualized guidance throughout the program.
The academy's instructor, Ahra Kang, is the Founder and CEO of MyShopper Co., Ltd., a global image consulting brand that uses a signature ‘4 Seasons 4 Ways 16 Type’ personal color system and operates branches across Korea, Asia, and Los Angeles. Holding a Master’s degree in Color Design from Ehwa Woman University, Ms. Kang is widely recognized for her professional appearance on the SBS variety show Running Man and her styling collaborations with globally acclaimed K-pop stars like Stray Kids, EXO, and Monsta X.
Through the K-Beauty Academy, the Korean Cultural Center aims to broaden its educational programs beyond traditional Korean language and cultural courses by introducing one of Korea's most influential contemporary cultural industries.
By incorporating K-beauty into its cultural programming, the Center seeks to promote greater cultural exchange while providing Egyptian participants with a deeper understanding of modern Korean lifestyle, beauty trends, and professional beauty techniques.
