U.S. President Donald Trump said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu "knows who the leader is," referring to himself, adding that the two maintain a "very good relationship."
In remarks to Axios, Trump said Netanyahu had requested a meeting at the White House and that it would likely take place early next week.
Trump also said he could have eliminated all of Iran's leaders but chose not to, arguing that doing so would have left no one to negotiate with.
He added that Washington and Tehran had agreed to pause talks for one week, stressing that neither side would launch attacks against the other during that period.
