U.S. President Donald Trump said he has directed his administration to allow all U.S. airlines to operate direct flights to Lebanon following his meeting with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun.
In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump praised Aoun, saying the Lebanese president is "doing an outstanding job moving his country forward."
"I am directing my administration to allow all U.S. airlines to fly directly to Lebanon so that Americans can easily visit this beautiful country," Trump wrote.
Trump also said he hopes other countries will take similar steps.
U.S. airlines had suspended direct flights to Lebanon in previous years because of security concerns.
