The latest chapter in the Trolls franchise, "Trolls Band Together" is hitting theaters in less than a month, but fans can get hyped in the meantime by listening to the movie’s official soundtrack, which arrived on Friday.
The soundtrack features the previously released collaboration between Camila Cabello and Anna Kendrick, “It Takes Two,” as well as the long-awaited musical reunion for *NSYNC, “Better Place.” Fittingly, Justin Timberlake also returned as the movie soundtrack’s executive music producer alongside producer and songwriter Mike Elizondo.
“Better Place,” released September 29 on DreamWorks/RCA Records, peaked at No. 25 on the Billboard Hot 100 songs chart, tying *NSYNC’s highest Hot 100 start: the group’s debut hit, “I Want You Back,” began at No. 25 on the March 7, 1998-dated chart.
The movie, out on November 17, features the usual mix of pop classics sung by all your favorites, as well as new additions to the cast including Cabello, Zosia Mamet (Crimp), and RuPaul (Miss Maxine).
The returning cast includes Zooey Deschanel (Bridget), Christopher Mintz-Plasse (Gristle), Icona Pop (Satin and Chenille), Anderson .Paak (Prince D), Ron Funches (Cooper), Kunal Nayyar (Guy Diamond) and Kenan Thompson (Tiny Diamond).
Led by returning director Walt Dohrn and producer Gina Shay, "Trolls Band Together" is also co-directed by Tim Heitz.
The animated musical feature Anna Kendrick and Timberlake returning as the voices of Queen Poppy and Branch.
"Trolls Band Together" sees Poppy and Branch finally a couple and have a couple name (#broppy) after years of flirting.
It also sees the pair going on a mission to save one of Troll Village’s legendary boy bands, BroZone, and Branch’s long-lost older brothers, voiced by an ensemble cast that includes Eric André, Kid Cudi, Daveed Diggs, and Troye Sivan.
The original movie in the Trolls franchise was released in 2016 and earned almost $350 million at the global box office.
