Filmmaker Alaa Mahmoud has released the official trailer for her film “Triangle of Love”, just days before its screening at the 46th Cairo International Film Festival, where it will be featured in the Special Screenings section alongside 12 films from around the world.
The trailer offers a moving glimpse into moments of raw emotion and humanity, featuring Dr. Maha El Shenawy as she faces her battle with cancer, and scenes of Alaa Mahmoud herself with her son Mostafa, confronting their genuine feelings after a long journey through love and loss.

“Triangle of Love” is a unique cinematic experience that began filming ten years ago, in 2016, and reached the editing phase earlier this year—culminating in a deeply personal vision that celebrates love, memory, and loss.
Director Alaa Mahmoud commented: “It wasn’t easy for me and Mostafa Bahgat, the film’s line producer, to embark on this cinematic journey — to express emotions we had never spoken about or shared before, emotions that had lived within us and grown heavy over time.
But if a human being must be honest, then an artist must be even more so — and braver.
The most beautiful thing is that when I speak about myself, I’m also speaking about others.” she concluded her statement by saying that ‘Triangle of Love’ is a film for everyone.
“Triangle of Love” is directed by Alaa Mahmoud, with music by Tamer Karawan, sound design by Ahmed Gaber, and editing by Alaa Mahmoud and Alya Ibrahim.
