The Egyptian Administrative Judiciary Court of the State Council is currently reviewing a lawsuit aimed at canceling the concert of US rapper Travis Scott, which is set to be held on July 28 in Egypt.
The lawsuit was presented by the lawyer Amr Abdel Salam, who any permission issued by other body other than the Permanent Higher Committee for Organizing Festivals and Carnivals should not be considered at all.
In response to the lawsuit, the court has requested a report from the committee to confirm the validity of these claims.
Mohamed Serag, managing director of the company responsible for selling tickets to Travis Scott's concert, said the cancelation of the concert could result in losses of up to EGP 300 million.
"Approximately 4,000 tickets have already been booked by foreigners who will travel to Egypt to attend the concert and plan to stay for at least a week," he added.
Serag refutes rumors that Scott is a “devil worshipper” and asserts that if the concert were canceled, the individuals responsible for spreading these rumors will be sued for the anticipated losses.
Scott himself has sent a message to the Egyptians, urging them not to believe the rumors circulating about his concert. He has categorically denied any notions of devil worship, emphasizing that he only aims to provide entertainment for his audience.
The rapper, who hails from Houston, stressed his respect for family values, underscoring his roots in a religious family.
The report is to be considered on September 2.
