Ahmed Issa, the Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, and Kamel al-Wazir, the Minister of Transport, met at the headquarters of the Ministry of Transport in the New Administrative Capital, in order to follow up on the latest developments regarding the implementation of the strategy of maximizing yacht tourism in Egypt.
The meeting was attended by Reda Ismail, the Head of the Maritime Transport Sector at the Transport Ministry, Khaled Sharif, the Assistant of tourism minister for Digital Transformation and supervisor of the yacht tourism file, and Mohamed Amer, the Head of the Central Administration for Hotel Establishments, Shops and Tourist Activities at the Tourism Ministry.
During the meeting, business development was reviewed in the one-stop-shop for yacht tourism, which was recently launched by the maritime transport sector, in which all concerned authorities are represented in order to simplify procedures and obtain security approvals, as well as follow up on the work being done to complete the second phase of its development.
The meeting also discussed a proposal for the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion and the Maritime Transport Sector to implement a marketing plan to promote yacht tourism and the Egyptian tourist ports and the appropriate timing for that, which contributes to maximizing the benefit from yacht tourism as one of the important tourism patterns that the country attaches great importance to.
