Tourism Ministry Participates in BIT Milan International Tourism Fair

The Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, represented by the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, is participating in the Milan International Tourism Fair (BIT), which is currently being held in Italy.

Amr El-Kady, the CEO of the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion, explained that the Egyptian participation in the exhibition this year comes within the framework of the authority's interest in continuous communication with Italian tour operators to present the tourism potential to attract more incoming tourist traffic to the Egyptian tourist destination.

He added that the Italian market is one of the most important markets exporting tourism to Egypt, in addition to the multiplicity and diversity of Egyptian tourist destinations and experiences that are preferred by the Italian tourist.

Mohamed Farag, the tourist attache at the Egyptian Tourist Office in Germany and the administrative and financial supervisor of the tourist offices in Russia and Italy and their supervisory countries, pointed out that the Egyptian pavilion participating in the exhibition is witnessing a large turnout of visitors and exhibitors from the various participating countries.

Numerous professional meetings were held with major Italian tour operators and airlines carrying Italian tourism to Egypt, during which they discussed ways to enhance cooperation to push more incoming tourist traffic from Italy to Egypt.

Opportunities for cooperation between the Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion and tour operators were also discussed to promote the Egyptian tourist destination in the Italian market through the implementation of joint advertising campaigns and the organization of introductory visits for Italian tourism companies.

The CEO of the authority also held several media interviews with representatives of the Italian media specialized in tourism to introduce the Italian tourist to the tourism patterns and products and Egyptian tourist destinations.
