Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathi met, on Sunday, with Mykola Nahorniy, the Ukrainian Ambassador to Cairo, at the ministry's headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.
The meeting focused on exploring future cooperation plans and exchanging expertise in the tourism and antiquities sectors.
The meeting was attended by Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Board, and Volodymyr Martynyuk, Counselor at the Ukrainian Embassy in Cairo.
At the outset of the meeting, Fathi welcomed the ambassador and wished him success in his role. He also emphasized the importance of enhancing cooperation between the two countries, particularly in the tourism and antiquities sectors, praising ongoing efforts to restore Ukrainian tourist flows to Egypt.
For his part, Ukrainian Ambassador highlighted that Egypt remains one of the most favored destinations for Ukrainian tourists, who are eager to visit and explore its rich cultural heritage.
The discussions included ways to further activate the memorandum of understanding between the two countries in the field of tourism. Additionally, they explored the potential for Egyptian expertise to train Ukrainian archaeology students in excavation techniques through collaboration with Egyptian archaeological missions working at various historical sites in Egypt.
Preparations for the upcoming visit of Ukraine's State Minister of Tourism to Egypt were also discussed, aimed at strengthening tourism cooperation between the two nations.
