On Monday, Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, participated as a keynote speaker in the symposium organized by the Egyptian-British Business Association (BEBA), under the title “Investing in Tourism: Opportunities and Incentives,” in the presence of Khaled Nosair, President of the Association.
The Minister began his speech to the session by expressing his happiness for his participation in the meeting, thanking the British Egyptian Business Association (BEBA) for this invitation and for organizing this symposium.
Issa gave a presentation on the most prominent developments witnessed by the tourism industry in Egypt, especially as a result of the current events taking place in the international arena, reviewing the measures taken by the Ministry as a result of these events.
The Minister pointed out that his ministry has extended the current aviation incentive program until next April, with some amendments to it and the addition of a new package for some tourist destinations for 4 months, as it was scheduled to end at the end of this October.
He also spoke about what has been accomplished and what was being worked on through the National Strategy for Tourism Development in Egypt, the work axes, and action plans to reach the industry’s targets to attract 30 million tourists annually by 2028.
The Minister revealed the importance of the tourism industry in Egypt to the national economy, especially its role in producing and providing jobs.
He also referred to the Ministry's plans for joint cooperation and continuous communication between the Ministry and professional partners, whether at the local or international level, including international tour operators and local and international airlines.
