Talent Dr. Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism, affirmed that the election of Dr. Khaled El-Enany as President of UNESCO represents a historic milestone and a source of pride for all Egyptians. He noted that this achievement embodies the state’s faith in the capabilities of its citizens and its continued support for national talent on the international stage.

During his speech at the celebration organized by the Ministry of Tourism to mark this occasion, the minister said:

“We gather today to celebrate this remarkable event, which has been met with appreciation and positive response from several countries, including Ukraine and Belarus — something I deeply value.”

Fathy added:

“I was confident in Dr. Khaled El-Enany’s success and his ability to lead UNESCO, for several reasons — foremost among them is the strong backing and strategic support from the Egyptian state, driven by the belief that Egypt deserves this distinguished international position and that our candidate is fully capable of representing the country in the best possible way.”

The minister went on to highlight the significant efforts made by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in managing the election campaign, in addition to Dr. El-Enany’s influential personality, extensive academic and administrative experience, and his comprehensive and well-structured electoral program, which he presented with passion and conviction — earning the trust of member states.

Minister Fathy concluded by emphasizing that this victory stands as a message of recognition for Egypt’s international stature and reflects its success in presenting an inspiring model of Egyptian leadership — one capable of balancing the preservation of human heritage with the promotion of global cultural dialogue.
