Tourism Min. Meets with Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce

Sherif Fathy, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities concluded his visit to the British capital, London, by meeting with the Director General of the Egyptian-British Chamber of Commerce (EBCC) and a number of representatives of the Chamber to discuss ways of joint cooperation to attract more tourism investments to Egypt and promote the country's tourist destinations.

The meeting was attended by Amr El-Kady, CEO of the Egyptian Tourism Promotion Authority, Mohamed Mohsen, Supervisor of the Tourism Office in London and its affiliated markets, and Ahmed Nabil, Assistant Minister for Aviation and Follow-up.

The possibility of organizing a webinar, between members of the Chamber and the Ministry and a number of investors with representatives of the private tourism sector in Egypt to attract more investments in the field of tourism, was also put on the table.

The meeting also stressed the importance of continuing periodic communication between the Ministry and the Chamber and sharing the latest developments in the tourism industry in Egypt, as well as presenting and promoting available tourism investment opportunities on the chamber's various media and social media platforms.

On the sidelines of his visit, Fathy held several media meetings with a number of representatives of a group of British, international and Arab media outlets, including newspapers, news agencies and television channels, during which he reviewed the Ministry's current strategy and the most prominent indicators of incoming tourism to Egypt from targeted markets during the current year, noting that the number of tourists is expected to reach 15.3 million by the end of this year, an increase of 5% over last year.

It is worth noting that the minister visited the British capital, London, to participate in the 43rd edition of the World Travel Market (WTM London 2024), which continued until November 7.
