During his visit to Sharm El-Sheikh for the African Tourism Forum and Exhibition, Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, inspected the Sharm El-Sheikh Museum to review its progress.
He was welcomed by Myriam Edward, the General Supervisor of the museum, and Professor Mohamed Hassanein, the Museum Director.
The tour included the museum's exhibition halls, commercial area, and conference hall. The Minister was briefed about the museum's history, archaeological collections, and display scenario.
Meanwhile, Ms. Edward also presented a video about the commercial area, showcasing its bazaars, restaurants, and cafeterias, as well as the cultural, artistic, educational, and community events held at the museum since its opening in 2020.
During the tour, Issa directed the formation of a working team to study ways to enhance the commercial area, in line with the National Tourism Strategy in Egypt. He emphasized the need to promote the museum and encourage tourism companies to include it in their programs to increase the number of visitors, both Egyptian and foreign, and maximize its revenues.
