During his visit to the German capital, Berlin, Egypt’s Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, Sherif Fathy, held a series of high-level meetings with executives from major tour operators, travel agencies, and airlines operating in the German market and other key tourism markets.
Among the key industry leaders he met were representatives from TUI Group, one of the world's largest tour operators and a major airline bringing tourists to Egypt; DER Touristik Deutschland GmbH; Schauinsland Reisen, one of Germany’s leading tour operators; ITAKA, the largest Polish tour operator sending tourists to Egypt; Edelweiss Air; and other influential travel companies.
These meetings took place on the sidelines of the "ITB Berlin 2025", one of the world’s most significant tourism trade fairs, held in Berlin from March 4 to 6. The discussions focused on strengthening future cooperation mechanisms to attract more tourists to Egypt, as well as enhancing the promotion of the country's unparalleled tourism diversity as part of the ministry’s current strategy.
The minister also listened to insights and proposals from tour operators, travel agencies, and airline representatives regarding strategies to increase inbound tourism from target markets.
Moreover, he reviewed their future operational plans for various Egyptian destinations.
During the meetings, Minister Fathy highlighted Egypt’s ongoing efforts to develop its tourism infrastructure, including upgrading road networks, public transportation, airports, and railway systems, as well as launching new airports. He emphasized that these improvements will positively impact the tourism sector and facilitate smoother travel between different tourist destinations.
Furthermore, he discussed the Ras El Hekma project, describing it as Egypt’s largest foreign investment. He noted that this development will introduce a new high-end tourist destination on the North Coast, attracting affluent travelers and significantly contributing to the tourism, aviation, and real estate sectors.
