Ahmed Issa, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, participated in the opening ceremony of the 43rd session of the International Tourism Trade Fair, (FITUR), which is held in Madrid during 18-22 January 2023.
The King of Spain Felipe VI inaugurated the event and received tourism ministers of the countries participating in the exhibition.
More than 26 tourism ministers are taking part in the exhibition this year.
Issa toured the Egyptian pavilion in FITUR, during which he met with the exhibitors and listened to their proposals and opinions to boost tourism in the Arab Republic.
Furthermore, Issa highlighted the importance of this exhibition which is the third-largest international tourism gathering. He also underlined that Spain is one of the key tourist markets for Egypt.
Egypt is participating this year in the exhibition with a pavilion of 297 square meters in the shape of a pharaonic temple, with the gathering of 32 exhibitors representing a number of tourism companies and hotel establishments, in addition to the EgyptAir office in Madrid and Air Cairo.
