Tom Hardy will return for season 3 of Paramount+‘s hit crime series "MobLand".
Hardy had completed work on Season 2 of the series when he fell out with executive producer Jez Butterworth, 101 Studios, and others. Production wrapped on Season 2 in March.
Sources said that Hardy and the production team met in London to hash out their issues, leading Hardy's return to the show.
Sources previously detailed that plans were underway to bring Hardy back to the series.
A third season has not been formally announced at this time, but given the show’s success on the streaming platform, it is all but guaranteed.
Hardy plays fixer Harry Da Souza in the series, which launched on Paramount+ last spring and quickly became the second most-watched series on the platform.
“MobLand,” which was created by Ronan Bennett, stars Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and Paddy Considine.
It follows the Harrigan crime family, headed by Brosnan’s Conrad and his wife, Maeve (Mirren). Considine plays their son Kevin.
Butterworth wrote all ten episodes alongside Bennett.
Mirren has been vocal in her support of Hardy and his return to the show both on social media and in an interview with Variety at the Taormina Film Festival.
When asked if she would work with the actor again, she replied “Absolutely. In a f***ing heartbeat,” she said. “I love Tom, I think he’s the most amazing actor. Different actors have different processes. I’ve learnt over the years that some people get to things faster. As long as what’s on the screen is fantastic, I’m totally chilled with however someone gets there. Tom is a very special person. I think he’s absolutely remarkable. My support of him is genuine and heartfelt.”
