Today Marks Abu Bakr Ezzat's 93rd Anniv.

Today, August 8, marks the 93rd anniversary of the birth of Abu Bakr Ezzat, a beloved Egyptian actor known for his charisma and unique mentality.

He rose to fame quickly and was at the height of his career when he passed away from a severe heart attack in 2006.

Born in Saida Zainab neighboring, Cairo, in 1930, he appeared in over 300 Arabic films and several plays, including "The Scandals," directed by Kamal Yassin and released in 1955.

Ezzat developed a passion for theater while in school and made his public acting debut at a school concert. After graduating from the Faculty of Arts in 1959, he pursued his acting career, quickly transitioning from stage to screen.

He married his university colleague and renowned screenwriter, Kawthar Heikal, after graduating. Like many actors of his generation, Ezzat owed his fame to both the theater and the silver screen.

Ezzat was best known for playing shrewd and cunning characters who were always seeking to gain the most benefit for themselves. He will always be remembered for his unique qualities and his ability to connect with audiences.

The veteran actor was also the recipient of numerous awards and nominations for excellence throughout his successful career, including Best Actor in the Egyptian Cinema at the Cairo International Film Festiva and Life Time Achievement at the Alexandria International Film.

The late remarkable actor is still living in people’s memories through his wonderful performances in “El Mofatish El ‘Am” (The Inspector General), “El Dabor” (The Hornet), “El Ardh” (The Earth), “Sana Ma’ El Shoghl El Laziz” (A Year Of Enjoyable Work), “El Dukhol Bil-Melabis Rasmiya” (Entering With Official Clothes), and “Sika El Salaama” (The Safe Way).

Ezzat, who had starred in several films with the legendary actor Fouad El-Mohandes such as "Mr. X" and "Hareb mn El-Zwag", passed away on February 27, 2006, at the age of 72, leaving millions of fans in mourning, after a lustrous career spanning over four decades in the Egyptian film industry.
