Today Marks 6th Death Anniv. of Legendary Actor Sami El-Adel

Today marks the 6th death anniversary of legendary actor Samy El-Adel.

El-Adel was born on November 2, 1946, in Dakahlia Governorate and died on July 10, 2015, in Cairo.

He was introduced as a supporting actor in the renowned film’ Klimt Sharaf’ staring Farid Shawky and renowned actress Hend Roustom.

On his birth anniversary, many Egyptians took to Twitter on Wednesday to remember the late star on his birth anniversary. They shared stills from his movies, series and quoted some of his most memorable lines to highlight his contribution to the film and drama industry.

El-Adel would have been 75 years old today, and his daughter Rash Sami Aldel is commemorating that anniversary by honouring his memory with a sweet Facebook post.

She shared a throwback photo of the father-daughter duo, where the veteran actor can be seen holding his daughter when she was just a toddler. She captioned it:  “Happy Birthday my beloved Father. I wish you were alive.”

He is well known for his seminal works, such as the Jewish Quarter, Viva Atata, Dealer

(2008) A word of truth, 1989, Fatwat al-Salakhana (1988), and Women and the Law.

In the 2000s, the remarkable actor shifted his career to television, starring in series like Hadith ElSabah Wa Elmsaa' and Raay Aam'.

His remarkable roles and key works on TV included The 'Raya and Skina' and 'Klimt Hak'.

Many feel that he managed to add depth to the character of iconic villain Abdallal in ‘Raya and Skina’, which was no mean feat.

He was the recipient of numerous awards and nominations for excellence throughout his successful career, including the Arab Film Festival, Alexandria Festival, and Cairo Festival.

The renowned actor passed away in International Medical Center in  2015, leaving fans heartbroken. His death was a big loss for the industry.
