TIME named the legendary Elton John as its 2024 Icon of the Year.
John spoke to the Time as they featured a long profile about him. He described: “On my gravestone all I want it to say is ‘He was a great dad."
The feature also included some statements from top world's star who praised John like Dua Lipa and Chappell Roan, who played a leading role in their lives as a mentor to both artists.
Dua Lipa said: “His music has been able to soundtrack my life from the very beginning."
Roan highlighted that John offered her comforting advice as she prepared her sophomore album.
She said: “The advice he gave me was that the songs will come,”
“He thought that he wouldn’t have the ideas, but they were absolutely there. He just had to let them come to him. So that’s a good reminder.”
