Social media users around the world were left in shock after the death of 19-year-old Filipino TikTok star Iman Atienza.

Authorities in Los Angeles, California, confirmed that the young influencer committed suicide at her home on October 22, according to an official report issued by the county coroner’s office.

Iman, whose real name was Emanuelle Atienza, had recently moved to the United States in pursuit of her dream to become a leading digital creator.

She gained over one million followers and nearly 50 million likes on TikTok through her honest and emotionally raw content about mental health, bullying, and personal struggles.

Her sudden passing has sparked deep sorrow both in the Philippines and internationally.

Her father, Kim Atienza, a well-known broadcaster and meteorologist, shared the heartbreaking news in an emotional post.

Her mother, Feliciana, wrote: “Iman brought so much joy and love into our lives. We will forever hold on to her memory, full of compassion and courage.”

In earlier posts, Iman spoke openly about her long battle with bipolar disorder and suicidal thoughts that began when she was just twelve.

She described her condition as “treatment-resistant,” though she had expressed hope for recovery as 2025 approached.

Atienza was widely respected for her bravery in discussing mental health issues and for using her platform to raise awareness about social and political topics in the Philippines, often controversial, yet always delivered with empathy and authenticity.
