Third Edition of Dahshan’s Cancer Memoir Released in Arabic, English

Egyptian writer and media professional Sameh Al-Dahshan has released the third edition of his book “My Journey with Pain and Awareness: Me and Cancer” in both Arabic and English, less than six months after its debut at the Muscat International Book Fair in May 2025.

The English edition was launched in November on the sidelines of the World Cancer Congress, summit and exhibition held from Nov. 3–6, reflecting the book’s growing regional and international reach.

The work blends personal narrative with philosophical reflection, documenting Al-Dahshan’s journey from diagnosis through treatment and psychological recovery, while exploring resilience, hope and self-rediscovery.

Al-Dahshan, an Egyptian journalist based in Oman for nearly two decades, is known for his media work on social issues and humanities writing. The book concludes with testimonials from Omani public figures, including Sayyid Mohammed bin Salim Al Said, Dr. Wahid bin Ali Al-Kharousi, and former information minister Abdulmunem Al-Hasani, who praised its human and awareness-raising message.
