The Weeknd finally released Friday “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” the long-awaited third chapter of his “After Hours” trilogy.

While the credits did not initially appear on streaming services, a rep for the artist confirms that it features Lana Del Rey, Travis Scott, Future, Florence + the Machine, Giorgio Moroder, Playboi Carti, Anitta, and others.

The album will be followed in May by the film of the same name, starring the Weeknd with Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan.

The film was co-written and directed by Trey Edward Schults for Lionsgate and will release May 16, 2025, exclusively in theaters.

In a recent Variety interview, the singer also said that he may be retiring the name and the persona of the Weeknd, and that is borne out by the very end of “Hurry Up Tomorrow,” which segues cleanly in to “High for This,” the first track from his first mixtape, “House of Balloons,” bringing his catalog full circle.

“Hurry Up Tomorrow” was originally scheduled to be released last week, but was delayed out of respect for the tragedy of the Los Angeles wildfires.

Proceeds from the album track “Take Me Back To LA” will be donated to LA Regional Food Bank, who are providing emergency food assistance to those directly impacted by the LA wildfires.

Out of respect for those impacted by the crisis, the Weeknd chose to cancel the planned album release concert at Pasadena’s Rose Bowl and donated 1 million dollars to LAFD Foundation, GoFundMe’s Wildfire Relief Fund, and LA Regional Food Bank.

The Weeknd appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Thursday evening and performed the new song “Open Hearts.”

Several tracks from the album were previewed during the Weeknd’s stadium concert at Estádio Morumbi in São Paulo last October.

The performance featured surprise appearances from Playboi Carti and Anitta.
