The 30-year-old Canadian singer The Weeknd called the Grammy Awards corrupt earlier today, Wednesday, on his official Twitter account after receiving no nominations in the 2021 awards.
“The Grammys remain corrupt. You owe me, my fans and the industry transparency…” The Weeknd tweeted before continuing “Collaboratively planning a performance for weeks to not being invited? In my opinion zero nominations = you’re not invited!”
The singer’s backlash came as a result of his disappointment for not being nominated for any awards in the 2021 Grammy awards despite his album “After Hours” being biggest-selling album in the U.S this year and his single “Blinding Lights” the longest-running top 10 hit in all of the U.S charts history.

The Grammys’ authorities announced that they emphasize with the singer’s disappointment but that unfortunately some deserving acts miss out every year.
However, some sources claim that The Weeknd’s non-invite and no nominations are a result of some disagreement regarding the singer’s performance in the upcoming January Grammys ceremony.
