After an extraordinary awards-season journey that has already included nominations from the Golden Globe Awards and the Academy Awards, Kaouther Ben Hania’s powerful docudrama "The Voice of Hind Rajab" has now been officially nominated for a BAFTA Film Award in the Film Not in the English Language category.

The nomination marks another major milestone for the film, further cementing its global impact and critical acclaim, while underscoring its resonance with international audiences and voting bodies alike.

Directed by acclaimed Tunisian filmmaker Kaouther Ben Hania — whose previous works include The Man Who Sold His Skin and Four Daughters — "The Voice of Hind Rajab" continues a historic run that has positioned it as one of the most significant non-English language films of the year.

A Tunisian-French co-production, "The Voice of Hind Rajab" is based on the devastating true story of Hind Rajab, who was killed by Israeli forces in Gaza. The film incorporates real voice recordings between Hind and the Red Crescent volunteers who attempted to rescue her, forming the emotional and moral core of the film.

The BAFTA nomination follows an already remarkable year for the film. In addition to its Golden Globe nomination for Best Motion Picture – Non-English Language and its Academy Award nomination for Best International Feature Film, the film has received widespread international acclaim throughout its festival run.

"The Voice of Hind Rajab" premiered at the Venice International Film Festival, where it received a thunderous standing ovation lasting more than 20 minutes — the longest in the festival’s history — and went on to win multiple honors, including the Silver Lion Grand Jury Prize.

The film has since screened at major international festivals worldwide, serving as the closing film of the 46th Cairo International Film Festival and the opening film of the inaugural Doha Film Festival. Its awards include the Audience Award at Cinemed Montpellier, honors at the Mostra de València–Cinema del Mediterrani and the Warsaw International Film Festival, and the Grand Prize for Best Film of 2025 at the Ghent International Film Festival. Most recently, it received the Best Actress Award for Saja Kilani and an Honorary Jury Award at the Carthage Film Festival.

"The Voice of Hind Rajab" is executive produced by Brad Pitt, Joaquin Phoenix, Rooney Mara, and Alfonso Cuarón, alongside Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner through Plan B Entertainment, with Film4 and MBC Studios receiving “In Association With” credits. Additional executive producers include Jemima Khan, Frank Giustra, and Sabine Getty.

The film stars Amer Hlehel, Clara Khoury, Motaz Malhees, and Saja Kilani, and was filmed in Tunisia. Worldwide sales are handled by Paris-based The Party Film Sales, co-representing North American rights with CAA Media Finance. Distribution across the Arab World is managed by MAD Distribution.

Produced by Tanit Films, Mime Films (Nadim Cheikhrouha), RaeFilm Studios (Odessa Rae), and JW Films Production (James Wilson), in collaboration with the Palestinian Red Crescent, "The Voice of Hind Rajab" continues to stand as one of the most urgent and talked-about films of the year.
