The Russian House in Cairo (Russian Cultural Center), headed by Dr. Vadim Zaychikov, Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, celebrated bidding farewell to 2025 and welcoming the New Year 2026 through a special ceremony for the Russian House staff, including management, teachers, studio heads, translators, employees, and security personnel.

During the celebration, Dr. Vadim Zaychikov expressed his gratitude to the Russian House team for the great efforts exerted throughout 2025, which resulted in positive outcomes at the level of cultural activities both inside and outside the center. This was achieved through cooperation with various Egyptian institutions, including universities and specialized academies, within the framework of the new administration of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt that began its work in 2025.

Zaychikov wished the staff continued success and emphasized the importance of building on these achievements in 2026 by diversifying cultural activities. Plans include intensifying support for Russian language courses in Egypt, strengthening cooperation with universities that teach the Russian language, organizing a Russian Film Week in coordination with the General Authority for Culture Palaces, and contributing to hosting Russian ballet and folk art troupes on the stages of the Cairo Opera House.

He also pointed to cooperation with the National Center for Translation to present the latest publications translated from Russian, in addition to inviting experts from various artistic fields to offer specialized workshops for students of the Egyptian Academy of Arts.

The Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt confirmed that cooperation will continue with friendly institutions, including the Egyptian-Russian Friendship Association, the Coordinating Council of Russian Compatriots in Egypt, the Graduates Association, the High Dam Builders Association, and the Egyptian-Russian Foundation for Culture and Science.

In the same context, Zaychikov noted that Egyptian-Russian cultural cooperation will gain strong momentum at the beginning of the new year through Russia’s participation with a delegation of writers in the Cairo International Book Fair, which opens on January 21, following coordination with Dr. Ahmed Magued, Executive Director of the Cairo International Book Fair.
