The Russian House in Cairo, in cooperation with the Egyptian Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities, celebrated the world's Alumni Day.
In his word before the ceremony, Sherif Gad, the Association's head welcomed Mr. Murad Gatin, the new Director of the Russian Cultural Centers in Egypt, wishing him success in his mission.
On his part, Gatin welcomed the attendees, stressing the depth of Egyptian-Russian ties, which will be further consolidated during the coming period.
He also added that many projects will be implemented in cooperation with the Egyptian Association of Graduates of Russian and Soviet University, and it will have a great impact on strengthening bilateral relations between the two countries.
Gatin also stressed that the Egyptian media represents a strong bridge for joint cooperation, without which information will not reach the public, pointing out that Egypt has a special place in the Russian people's hearts.
In addition, Fathi Toghan, the Secretary-General of the Egyptian Association affirmed the good relations between both entities, which spanned over 20 years.
On the other hand, the journalist Mohamed Salama noted that the Russian Center has won the title of the best foreign cultural center in Egypt several times, highlighting its key role to strengthen relations between the two countries.
Moreover, Gatin honored a group of graduates and media figures for their distinguished role in supporting Egyptian-Russian relations, each in his field.
On the sidelines of the celebration, a group of artists performed a number of songs, including, Dr. Mona Zeidan, Dina Samir, Mohamed Sherif, and Somaya Ahmed.
