The Russian Cultural Centre in Cairo, headed by Alexei Tiffanyan, organized a concert for the Russian band “Bis-Quit“.
In 2011, the Government of the Russian Federation awarded the band with the title “Ambassador of Russian Culture in the World”.
The band had a large contribution to the development and promotion of Russian national culture, as well as concerts that had a great success with the audience in Russia and abroad,
They presented masterpieces of world-Know jazz, Latin American rhythms, Russian folk music, world opera, ballet, country, tango and even rock.
At the end of the ceremony, Tiffanyan honored the group with a shield from the Center, which was received by their director, Andrei Antipov.
The ceremony was attended by Sherif Gad, head of the Association and the Arab Union for Graduates of Russian and Soviet Universities, Minister Plenipotentiary Yuriy Matveev , Magdy Zaabal, head of the Egyptian-Uzbek Friendship Association, and Ambassador Raouf Saad, Egypt’s former ambassador to Russia.
On his part, Tiffanyan expressed his extreme happiness with the band’s presence in Cairo and the interaction of the audience from the Egyptian and Russian audience with them, which highlights the impact of art as a soft force in consolidating relations between two peoples despite different culture as well as different language.
On his part, Gad praised the performance of the orchestra, which astonished the audience as it differs from the traditional performance of the rest of the bands.
He also noted that their next station will be the theater of the Russian Cultural Center in Alexandria, affirming that he hopes that the Ministry of Culture would invite them next year and organize public concerts for them, as it will coincide with Celebrating the 20th jubilee of the band’s founding.
