The New Alamein...Egypt’s Second Capital: El Nasaani

Anchor Hend El Nasaani said in "Sabah ElBalad" TV show, that Egyptians are reaping nowadays the fruits of the efforts exerted by the government over the last years.

“The new Alamein city is not just a resort, but it is a fully-integrated city, that can be visited throughout the year,” El Nasaani added. “It is considered as Egypt’s second capital.”

“The new city embraces all services that will benefit citizens, like other provinces,” the anchor continued.

Moreover, she added that Egypt’s Prime Minister (PM) Moustafa Madbouli chaired on Wednesday first cabinet weekly meeting at the new government headquarters in new Alamein city.

“They discussed a number of political، economic and social files, as well as latest preparations taken ahead of Eid Al-Adha,” El Naasani noted.

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi inaugurated the first phase of the New Alamein City in 2018.

The first phase is comprised of two main parts, totaling 8,000 acres, and housing 400,000 residents.

New Alamein city includes a national university that comprises a number of applied science faculties, an opera house, a library and a museum.

The city is located on an area of 48,000 feddans (one feddan equals 1.038 acres) in El Alamein town on Egypt’s Mediterranean coast and it is designed to include 5,000 housing units to accommodate more than 400,000 inhabitants.
