Culture Min. Attends Egyptian Celebration of Wadih El-Safi's Centenary

Abdel Dayem: The festival is an artistic forum for the creators of the Arab world, and the celebration of the centenary of Wadih Al-Safi is a sign of gratitude for his works.

Antoine, Moein and Amira on Wadih al-Safi's way and Muhammad Mohsen presents a concert that combines heritage and modernity.

In the 30th Arab Music Festival and Conference- organized by the Egyptian Opera House headed by Dr. Magdy Saber - Dr. Enas Abdel Dayem, Minister of Culture, followed Egypt's celebration of the centenary of the able Lebanese singer Wadih El-Safi, who played an important influential role in the field of Arabic singing.

On her part, Abdel Dayem said that the festival is an artistic incubator for all the creators of the Arabic world, adding that the celebration of the centenary of Wadih El-Safi is a coronation of his name and a sign of gratitude for his creative works, as he is one of the symbols of valuable singing.

The minister dedicated Antoine Wadih Al-Safi the commemorative shield of the festival in appreciation of his late father's great contributions in the field of singing.

During the ceremony, Antoine Wadih Al-Safi confirmed that Egypt was the first country to receive and celebrate his father in 1944, stressing that he considered art as a human message to spread love.

The ceremonies included presenting a concert for Maestro Salim Sahab, with a selection of immortal works of Safi in the fountain theater , followed by giving a speech for Moein Sharif who delivered a Lebanese greeting to Egypt, as it is the heart of the Arab nation.

Afterwards, the singer Mohamed Mohsen and The singer Ayat Farouk, accompanied by the Ahmed Amer musical Ensemble, presented a collection of the traditional compositions.

In the same context, The Institute of Arab Music presented a " Wahhabiat " concert on this occasion performed by the star Mohammed Al-Helou, accompanied by the orchestra led by Maestro Farouk Al-Babli and with the participation of Yehia Abdel Halim and Reem Kamal.

The star Medhat Saleh, accompanied by the famous pianist Amr Selim, gave a concert at the Bibliotheca Alexandrina, preceded by a paraphrase for: Royal Band for Music and Folk Arts, the Iraqi Qanun player Furat Qadawi and Difaf Degla Ensemble.

The Talent Development Center, under the supervision of the artist Abdel Wahab El-Sayed, also presented a concert by Saeed Al-Artist.
