The Minister of Culture Attended Conclusion of the 16th Edition of the Luxor International Forum for Photography

Dr. Nevin Al-Kilani, Minister of Culture, attended the conclusion of the 16th edition of the Luxor International Forum for the Art of Photography, which is organized by the Cultural Development Fund sector, in cooperation with the Luxor Governorate.

The ceremony began with a minute's silence for the martyrs of Gaza, followed by the screening of a documentary film that included the most important events and activities of the forum.

The Minister of Culture said: “It gives me great pleasure to be with you today, in this important international forum for the art of photography in its sixteenth year, which has been hosted by the city of Luxor since its inception 16 years ago.

The minister added that artists from Egypt and the world can enjoy the charming nature that this city expresses the greatness of the civilization of Egypt.

The Minister of Culture explained that the forum opens the way for all artists in the world to experience our charming nature and our ancient history.

The Minister continued to say that the Luxor International Forum for the Art of Photography is always keen, through the various organizing committees, to have a diversity of guests in its representation of all cultures of the world without distinction or discrimination, to develop dialogue between peoples, through its artists and creators.

She extended her invitation to the participating Egyptian artists, both seniors and youth, so that their art would be a messenger of our culture around the world, and an extension of history, which had previously been recorded as an artistic and cultural product made by our ancestors.

During the ceremony, the forum announced the honoring of the great plastic artist Helmy El-Touni, and given the health conditions he is going through, it was decided to hold a ceremony honoring him, and the accompanying symposium, in Cairo, with an exhibition of the works of the current session next December.

The Minister of Culture handed over certificates of honor and participation to the Egyptian and foreign artists who participated in the 16th edition of the forum.

The forum honored “Mohamed Abdel Hadi, Salam Yousry, Alia Issa, Omar Sanada, Mohamed Tayseer Hamed, Marwa Nagy, Mohab Abdel Ghaffar, Yousra Hafdy, Noha Elham from Egypt.”

Also, the minister honored “Muhammad Atiq from Qatar,”, “Amal Felemban from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,”, “Alexander Zerno Kliev from Russia,”, “Alvia Sargin from Tatarstan,”, “Atosa Rahmanifar from the United States,” from Armenia, “Lusina Tumanyan from Japan,” and. "Ryusuke Kondo", and "Sanji Shrestha" from Nepal.

It is noteworthy that the 16th edition of the Luxor International Forum for Photographic Art was attended by 17 Egyptian and foreign artists from 8 countries in addition to Egypt.
