The official poster for the highly-anticipated movie “The Marvels”, the sequel to 2019's “Captain Marvel”, has been unveiled.
"The Marvels" will see Larson reprising her role as Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, who was first introduced in 2019's blockbuster hit "Captain Marvel". The movie grossed more than $1.1 billion at the worldwide box office.
The sequel hails from Nia DaCosta and sees Larson teaming up with Captain Marvel super-fan, Kamala Khan/Ms. Marvel, played by Iman Vellani.
Vellani made her debut in the MCU in the Disney+ series "Ms. Marvel", which premiered on June 8, 2022.
Captain Marvel will also be joined by Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, the adult version of the character fans met in "WandaVision".
Moreover, Samuel L. Jackson is set to reprise his role as agent Nick Fury in the upcoming sequel.
The poster sees the trio in a vertical line, with Rambeau at the top, Khan at the bottom, and Danvers in the middle. It also features the words "Higher. Further. Faster. Together."
The poster also showed that the sequel has been delayed from July 28 February 17 to November 10.
Marvel boss Kevin Feige recently teased what fans can expect from the upcoming movie in an interview with Entertainment Weekly.
"There's something immensely powerful about seeing Monica and Kamala and Carol together in a frame. To me, it's only akin to the first Avengers movie and seeing the six of them together in a frame," he told the outlet.
"It's chill-inducing. They're so great together, and they all have different histories with one another."
Feige also said the sequel has fun cosmic elements to it and picks up directly after the end of the first Captain Marvel movie, noting that it does so not in the timeline but in the story.
