"19B" Cast Discuss Movie at CIFF

The makers of the film "19B" organised a symposium for the movie, which is competing among other films, within the activities of the Cairo International Film Festival (CIFF) 44th edition.

The symposium, which was held in the open theater at the Cairo Opera House, was attended by the cast and crew, including Sayed Ragab, Ahmed Khaled Saleh, Fadwa Abed, director Ahmed Abdullah, producer Muhammad Hefzy, Yara Gibran, and Nahed Nasrallah.

The movie “19B”, directed by Ahmed Abdullah revolves around an old guard who lives in a dilapidated villa, and watches an abandoned house that he considers as his home, but suddenly he becomes threatened by a young man who visits the garden, which makes the guard forced to face his fears.

The director Ahmed Abdullah said that he always tries to diversify his work, to produce something new for his audience, stressing that he decided to present “19 B” in one filming location because it is a reflection of what happened in the world in terms of change on the inside, and what's going on in the street.

Actor Sayed Ragab expressed his happiness with the experience of the movie “19 B”, indicating that it talks about two lives, the first is the life of loneliness in which the guard lived with his animals, and the second is the changes that occurred on the street, stressing that the work was a great challenge for for him.

On his part, Producer Mohamed Hefzy indicated that the selection of the cast took a long time, adding that the movie was not the first collaboration between him and Abdullah, as they had previously collaborated on 4 works, and had achieved many successes together.

Moreover, Star Yara Gibran said that "Antar", the main dog in the movie was trained to deal with Ragab, but the rest of the animals that appeared in the film were accompanied by their trainers.

Star Ahmed Khaled Saleh stressed that he was excited about the movie after Abdullah chose him to be among its cast. He indicated that the character he embodied has different aspects, as he is a young man who does not listen to the advice of those around him and choses force all the time to deal with the society.
