The Korean cultural center announced the winners of the Korean cooking competition organized online over the course of a month.
The competitors used pure Egyptian ingredients; about 60 competitors presented videos of themselves cooking their favorite Korean dishes in the first stage. The videos were posted on social media to facilitate the views. The best 5 competitors made it to the second stage but only three of them won the competition. The winners were Soad ElSaid, Roufida Ahmed and Nada ElBashtly.
The competitors were evaluated by the judges’ panel as well as the online public voting. One of the best Korean dishes prepared was the Tteokbokki or the Spicy Rice Cakes. And it is one of the most famous Korean street foods.
The Korean cultural center manager Yang Sang Keun announcedthat the competition aims to introduce the food culture in Korea “Hansik.” With its unique taste, its nutritional benefits and its recipes. The manager added that the cooking competition is one of the most important events organized by the cultural center annually but due to the coronavirus precautionary measures this year the competition was organized online.
Yang thanked all the competitors and praised their videos, recipes and presentations despite not being able to taste the food.
