A release window for the much-anticipated threequel of Pixar Animation Studios' “The Incredibles,” announced at last year's D23 Expo, has been revealed.

The animated superhero pic isn't set to make its landing until 2028, a full decade after 2018’s “Incredibles 2”.

The announcement was made at Destination D23, a smaller-scale version of the Disney D23 Expo that takes place every other year. This year, it was held at Coronado Springs Resort, part of Orlando's Disney World theme park.

During the presentation, Pixar outlined their upcoming slate of films: "Toy Story 5" and the beaver-body-swapping comedy Hoppers will be released next year, and the feline-themed "Gatto" will hit in 2027.

The 2028 and beyond will see the release of "Incredibles 3" and "Coco 2", as Pixar has had great success in recent years with sequels.

While details on Incredibles 3 are sparse so far, except that Brad Bird — who helmed 2004’s “The Incredibles” and “Incredibles 2” — will relinquish the director's chair to Peter Sohn (Elemental) and opt to pen the script and executive produce.

The original “The Incredibles” followed Mr. Incredible and Elastigirl attempting to live a normal, mundane life when superheroes and superpower activities were banned by the government. It grossed over $630 million at the worldwide box office, with the sequel earning $1.24 billion globally.

Debuting 14 years after the original, “Incredibles 2” took place immediately following the events of “The Incredibles,” with the main voice cast all returning to their original roles: Craig T. Nelson as the super-strong Mr. Incredible (aka Bob Parr), Holly Hunter as the super-stretchy Elastigirl (aka Helen Parr), Sarah Vowell as the super invisible Violet Parr, Samuel L. Jackson as the super-cool Frozone (aka Lucius Best) and Bird as the eccentric superhero fashion designer Edna Mode.

Huckleberry Milner took on the voice of the young, super-fast Dash Parr, who was voiced by Spencer Fox in the first film.

The 2018 sequel sees Helen and Bob, and their friend Frozone, recruited by a powerful corporation that intends to bring superheroes back into the public spotlight, only for a new mind-controlling villain to threaten the family and the world.

The Incredibles franchise has been enormously successful, critically and financially. The first film holds a 97% Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes and grossed $631 million USD at the box office; the sequel has an almost-as-good 93% Fresh rating, and grossed a superhuman $1.2 billion.

"Incredibles 3" will be released in 2028.
