Iris Apatow and Edvin Ryding have rounded out the cast of “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” as production begins on the Lionsgate film.

The pair has been cast to play Proserpina and Vitus, two Capitol University students assigned to the prep team for the District 12 Tributes.

They join an all-star cast, including Glenn Close, Kieran Culkin, Elle Fanning, Ralph Fiennes, Kelvin Harrison Jr., Maya Hawke, Jesse Plemons, Billy Porter and Lili Taylor, alongside rising stars Joseph Zada, Whitney Peak, Mckenna Grace, and Ben Wang, among others.

The film adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ “The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping” will be released worldwide on November 20, 2026.

Francis Lawrence will direct from a screenplay adaptation by Billy Ray. Color Force’s Nina Jacobson and Brad Simpson will produce alongside Lawrence. Cameron MacConomy will executive produce.

The five films in the franchise have taken in over $3.3 billion at the box office.

Driven by this A-list cast, “Sunrise on the Reaping” lined up an impressive array of international distribution partners coming out of Cannes, including Leonine (Germany), Metropolitan (France), Nordisk (Scandinavia) and Belga (Benelux).

The studio also previously announced the supporting cast of the film, including Laura Marcus as Silka, Percy Daggs IV as Ampert, Rada Rae as Wellie, Jhaleil Swaby as Panache, John Doeble as Buck, Alina Reid as Kerna, Salimou Thiam as Clayton, Kaine Buffonge as Hull, Sky Frances as Maritte, Tatyana Muzondo as Ringina, Kara Tointon as Willamae, Smylie Bradwell as Sid, Melody Chikakane Brown as Hattie Meeny, Grace Ackary as Asterid, Scot Greenan as Burdock, Jeffrey Hallman as Clerk Carmine, Sandra Förster as Hersilia, Serafin Mishiev as Woodbine Chance, Jax Guerrero as Tibby and Jefferson White as Mr. McCoy.

Meredith Wieck and Scott O’Brien are overseeing “Sunrise on the Reaping” for Lionsgate. Robert Melnik negotiated the casting deals for the studio.

Apatow is currently shooting a recurring role on season three of “Tell Me Lies” for Hulu.

She most recently starred in “Young Werther” and the Netflix series “Unstable.” She is next set to appear in the feature “Ballerina Overdrive.”

Ryding is best known as the star of the Netflix series “Young Royals,” and most recently appeared in a memorable role in Danny Boyle’s “28 Years Later.”

Published on March 18, “Sunrise on the Reaping” revisits the world of Panem 24 years before the events of “The Hunger Games,” starting on the morning of the reaping of the 50th Hunger Games, also known as the Second Quarter Quell.

The Suzanne Collins novel sold 1.5 million copies worldwide in its first week, more than doubling the book sales of the last “Hunger Games” book. It continues to hold the top spot on Amazon and USA Today, while the book series remains #1 on the New York Times bestseller list.

Excitement surrounding the franchise has also propelled it into new areas, including “The Hunger Games” stage play adaptation from Olivier-winning playwright Conor McPherson set to premiere in London in October.
