The teaser for Tunisian actress Hend Sabry‘s star-studded TV series “Moftarak Torok” has been unveiled.

The series boasts a cast that includes the likes of Maged El Masry, Eyad Nassar, Jumana Murad, Noha Abdin, Huda El Mufti, Ali Al Tayeb, Laila Ezz El Arab, Mahmoud Al Tayeb, and more.

It consists of 45 episodes and hails from scriptwriter Sherif Badr Alden and director Ahmed Khaled Mousa.

Licensed by Paramount Global Content Distribution, the remake of the 2009 US legal and political series “The Good Wife“, is produced by Dubai-based Charisma Group.

Touted by MBC in a statement as a “ground-breaking milestone” in Egyptian long-form TV, the high-end Arabic “Good Wife” adaptation is set to launch on MBC’s Shahid premium streamer on June 2.

A previous Indian adaptation of the multiple Emmy-winning CBS series titled “The Trial” launched on Disney+ Hotstar last year.

The original series is an American legal and political drama television series that aired on CBS from September 2009 to May 2016. It was created by Robert and Michelle King and consisted of 9 seasons and 156 episodes.

While the original U.S. “Good Wife” is centered around Alicia Florrick, played by Julianna Margulies, who has been a good wife to her husband a former state’s attorney (Chris Noth), and has to provide for her family and return to work as a litigator in a law firm after he is behind bars following a very humiliating and corruption scandal, “Moftarak Torok” appears to have been tailored to an Arabic cultural context.

The series’ Arabic adaptation delves into the journey of Amira, a woman who, after dedicating 15 years of her life to being a wife and a mother, “is abruptly confronted with unforeseen challenges” when her husband’s life is hit with an unspecified scandalous upheaval, jeopardizing his, also unspecified, public position, according to the provided synopsis.

“Amira’s unwavering resilience unfurls as she shoulders the arduous responsibilities thrust upon her family, embarking upon a profound journey of self-discovery,” the “Moftarak Torok” synopsis adds.

Robert and Michelle King served as creators, showrunners, and executive producers of the original series. Ridley Scott, David Zucker, and Brooke Kennedy also served as executive producers. “The Good Wife” is produced by CBS Studios, in association with Scott Free Productions and King Size Productions.

“Moftarak Torok” is set to debut on Sunday, June 2 on the "Sahid" VOD platform.
