CFFF Kicks off at Cairo Opera House

The Cairo Francophone Film Festival's first edition kicked off on Saturday at Cairo Opera House, and it will last until December 16.

Several artists attended the opening ceremony such as Bassem Samra, Hana Shiha, Ahmed Kamil, and others.

On his side, the President of the festival Yasser Moheb said that the festival has a message that reflects Egypt's soul and culture as a Francophone country.

Moheb added that the targets of the International Organization of Francophone defends the freedom of creation, expression, thought, and innovation, asserting that cinema is a symbol for Egypt's soft powers,

Next, he revealed that Francophone market stretches between Africa, Americas, Caribbean, Asia, Europe, and Asia.

The festival introduces several events. More than 12 films will have their world priemere at its two competitions: Official Competition, and Short Film competition that see the presence of 23 short film from Egypt, Canada, Senegal, Morroco, UAE, Jordan, Tunisia, and Lebanon
