Fans of DC’s "The Batman" will have to wait a long time to see the sequel.
According to Variety, the sequel is not expected to release until at least 2025.
The first movie was released in March and met with tremendous praise and success.
In April, Warner Bros. announced a sequel was in development, which will see Matt Reeves returning as director and Robert Pattinson as the Caped Crusader.
The decision comes after James Gunn and Peter Safran were recently appointed as co-CEOS of DC Studios.
The appointment has affected the status of numerous DC projects, with some being put on hold or even canceled, such as "Batgirl" and "The Wonder Twins".
Reeves recently signed a deal with DC Studios and is planning on creating a separate universe for his future projects, referred to as “The Batverse".
This will allow more Batman movies and spinoffs to operate independently of the cinematic universe that Gunn and Safran are planning on forming.
