The activities of the Egyptian-Russian forum to discuss the results of the year of humanitarian cooperation between Egypt and Russia clouded.
The forum came at the initiative of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi and his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin, which ended at the headquarters of the Russian House in Cairo, in the presence of a delegation from the Russian Ministry of Culture and representatives of a number of Egyptian government institutions and ministries.
The members of the Russian delegation expressed their happiness at visiting Cairo and stressed that the year of humanitarian cooperation will be the beginning of many new projects between the two countries as popular diplomacy is one of the most important goals of this year.
The representative of Russian libraries announced that days of Egyptian culture had been organized to introduce the rich Egyptian civilization and a fair of books by the world-known novelist Naguib Mahfouz, and a cultural week on Egypt would be organized in cooperation with the Egyptian Embassy in Moscow.
Representatives of the Museum of Russian Peoples, the International Historical Museum, and the Museum of the “Vanagoria” Reserve expressed their happiness with the new openings of the Egyptian museums and praised the presentation presented by Dr. Moamen Osman, Head of the Museums Sector.
In his speech, Assistant Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Abdullah Al-Batesh indicated that the year of humanitarian cooperation between Egypt and Russia was a window for interaction and closer cooperation between youth in the two countries in the coming years.
And he announced the inauguration of the first Egyptian-Russian Youth Council in partnership between the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs in Russia. For his part, Ismail Amer, director of foreign tourism offices, stressed that the Russian tourist is one of the most important sources of Egyptian tourism, and announced the Ministry of Tourism's readiness to provide all assistance in order to facilitate the movement of tourists in both countries.
Ambassador Reda Al-Taifi, Director of the Egyptian Public Libraries Fund, presented a proposal to the Russian side to finance the establishment of a public library in one of the Egyptian governorates. Dr. Makarim Al-Ghamry, professor of Russian literature, called for providing support to the Russian language teaching departments in Egyptian universities by sending professors to teach and supplying them with the necessary books.
Ekaterina Torobarova, Director of the Public Diplomacy Department of the Federal Agency for Russian Cultural Centers Abroad, affirmed the importance of the Russian House as a platform that allows for building a fruitful and constructive dialogue in the field of humanitarian cooperation,
Murad Gatin, director of the Russian cultural centers in Egypt, stated that the activities of the Year of Humanitarian Cooperation extended outside the cities of Cairo and Alexandria to include a number of Egyptian governorates and cities such as Kafr El-Sheikh, Rashid, Damanhour, Tanta, Luxor, and Hurghada.
and Gatin expressed his hope to complete more various activities
to confirm what was agreed upon during this year and to support the bonds of relations between the two friendly countries and peoples.
It is worth noting that on the sidelines of the forum a photo exhibition on Russian heritage was held.
