Amr Talaat, Minister of Communications and Information Technology witnessed on Sunday the signing of a number of trade agreements between Telecom Egypt and Orange Egypt aimed at supporting and developing partnership between the two companies to serve the Egyptian telecom market.
The agreement was signed by Adel Hamed, Managing Director and CEO of Telecom Egypt and Yasser Shaker, CEO and Managing Director of Orange Egypt.
The two companies signed an amendment to the mobile-to-fixed interconnection agreement, as well as extending the agreements governing the current international telecommunications services between the two companies until 2022, with the aim of reaching better terms at the commercial level and the quality of services provided.
Telecom and Orange also signed another agreement under which some commercial disputes between the two parties will be resolved, while developing joint cooperation mechanisms to avoid such obstacles in the future.
These steps come within the framework of strengthening the existing strategic cooperation between the two companies to provide the best services to the Egyptian telecommunications market.
Hamed said: “We are pleased to sign these agreements with Orange Egypt, which demonstrate our constant endeavor to enable our partners to provide the best services to the Egyptian telecom sector as a whole,” adding that these agreements work to regulate and develop commercial relations with Orange.
On his part, Shaker expressed his gratitude for signing these agreements, saying: "The signing of these agreements strengthens our long-term relationship with Telecom Egypt as a strategic partner and also helps us provide the best services to our customers."
