Breaking records is nothing new to Taylor Swift, and she’s done it once again with her 11th studio album, "The Tortured Poets Department."
Spotify revealed Friday, mere hours after the Grammy-winning singer dropped the album that Tortured Poets became the audio giant’s most-streamed album in a single day.
Swift also became the most-streamed artist in a single day in Spotify history.
The “Cruel Summer” singer’s newest records likely won’t come as a surprise to fans, as the audio streamer announced on Thursday, prior to the album’s release, that it became the most pre-saved album Countdown Page in the history of Spotify.
Swift’s latest work, which features 16 songs and collaborations with Post Malone and Florence + The Machine, takes fans on a journey of the stages of grief and heartbreak.
After its release at midnight Friday, the singer-songwriter also surprised fans with an expansion of Tortured Poets, "The Anthology", which includes 15 additional tracks.
In addition, Swift now holds the top three spots on Spotify for the most-streamed albums in one day with "The Tortured Poets Department", "Midnights", and "1989 (Taylor’s Version)".
She also broke her own record as the most-streamed artist in a single day, after previously achieving the title with the release of "1989 (Taylor’s Version)" in October 2023.
As for other music streaming platforms, Tortured Poets became the most-streamed album ever on Amazon Music on its first day.
It also broke the record for the biggest pop album of all time by first-day streams on Apple Music.
