Twilight actor Taylor Lautner and wife Taylor Dome-Lautner took to social media to share their reaction to finding out the gender of their first child.
In a joint Instagram post, the couple shared a video capturing the emotional moment they discovered whether they were having a boy or girl.
“Our little secret is now yours💗👶🏼💙,” Tay wrote in the caption.
The video showed the couple sitting in front of a laptop as they prepared to learn their child's gender.
However, instead of seeing the result immediately, they were met with a series of prompts asking whether they were sure they wanted to proceed.
“Oh my gosh! It’s a lot of steps! I literally (thought) that it will have this giant box with blue color. Is that the way it tells us?” Taylor asked.
After another click, they were greeted with yet another confirmation screen.
“‘This will reveal the baby's sex. Do you wish to continue?’ Oh my god! This has been asked three times! THREE TIMES!” Taylor said, making his wife laugh out loud.
“They are taking very great precautions. Okay let’s look at the screen. Are you ready?” Tay said.
After the fourth and final click, Taylor shouted with glee while Tay started to cry, as a bold pink “GIRL” appeared on screen.
“We did it!” Taylor said as he started crying with his wife.
The announcement quickly drew congratulatory messages from friends, fellow celebrities, and fans.
“🥹❤️🥹! So excited for this baby girl! Aunty Nik is ready for the snuggle time! Loving you guys! So so beyond happy for you!” Taylor’s Twilight co-star Nikki Reed, who played Rosalie commented.
Patrick Schwarzenegger also said, “So the names Patricia ?? So happy for you guys ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️.”
“The good news is… you could have used the name Taylor either way!! But IM SO HAPPY FOR YOU!! 💕,” another one wrote.
The couple first announced they were expecting their first child in March, sharing photos featuring their baby's sonogram.
“What’s better than two Taylor Lautners?🤍” Taylor wrote.
More recently, the actor marked Mother's Day by paying tribute to mothers everywhere while expressing excitement about the couple's next chapter.
“Happy Mothers Day to all the unbelievable ones out there. None of us would be here and be who we are today without you. You are the real heroes. Also can’t wait to celebrate this one every single day from here forward @taylautner 🫶🏼❤️,” he said.
The couple first went public with their relationship in 2018. Lautner popped the question with a romantic proposal in November 2021.
The following year, on November 11, 2022, they tied the knot at Epoch Estate Wines in California's wine country.
After their special day, the newlyweds opened up about the details of their intimate wedding, revealing how "Everything felt so surreal," said Tay. "We were both very involved in the process, so we had high expectations, but it exceeded them for sure."
"We just wanted the day to feel celebratory, no pressure or anxiety. Everybody there meant so much to us, and we wanted all of them to be part of the day," Lautner recounted.
Tay and Lautner were first introduced by Lautner's sister, Makena Moore, while on hiatus from acting.
"I wanted to take a step back and enjoy life and spend some time with my family and friends. And I met my fiancée out of it, so it all worked out," Lautner explained.
The actor announced their engagement on Instagram in November 2021, sharing two photos of himself and his new fiancée with the caption, "And just like that, all of my wishes came true."
In the first photo, Lautner and Tay were surrounded by rose petals and candles as he knelt on one knee in front of a fireplace while holding a small box in his hands. Tay stood opposite him with her hands covering her mouth.
In the second snap, Tay knelt beside him and held Lautner's face in her hands. Behind them, a neon sign spelled out Lautner's last name.
Tay posted the second photo to her own Instagram, where she captioned her post, "My absolute best friend," adding, "I CANNOT WAIT TO SPEND FOREVER WITH YOU."
Lautner replied to her post in the comments, writing, "Got news for you, the feeling is mutual."
