Veteran Egyptian actor Tawfik Abdel Hamid is stepping away from his career for a second time.
Abdel Hamid announced Saturday on Facebook that he was retiring due to health issues.
In 2022, the acclaimed actor disclosed that he would retire after he finished filming his new TV series “U-Turn”, starring Riham Hagag.
The decision had sent shockwaves throughout the country as the actor recently made his comeback after a 12-year hiatus.
However, Abdel Hamid deleted the post the following and noted in another one, that sometimes acting, specifically in TV series, allowed him to put a piece of himself into the character which sometimes can be more or less, per the details and events, something that was fun and very painful.
