Egyptian actor Tarek Lotfy has signed on to star in the TV series "Al Dofa" (working title).
The series consists of 10 episodes and will premiere on a streaming service.
Lotfy was last seen in the star-studded TV series “Gezira Guam”.
The star-studded casts also included Mai Ezz El-Din, Fathy Abdel Wahab, Ahmed Amin, Ryad El Kholy, Wafaa Amer, Mohamed Gomaa, Mahmoud El Bezzawy, Heba Abdel Ghany, Hagar El Sharnouby, Mayar Elghity, and others.
The series also featured a guest appearance from veteran actor Abdel Aziz Makhyoun.
It is directed by Hussein El Menbawy and produced by the Synergy production company.
“Gezira Guam” marks the second collaboration between the Lotfy and Abdel Wahab after the 2021 TV series “Cairo-Kabul”, which premiered last Ramadan.
It is written by Abdel Rahim Kamal, directed by Hossam Ali, and produced by synergy Production Company.
“Cairo-Kabul” revolved around 3 stories about the terrorist acts and plots that Egypt and the Arab region face.
The series centers around 3 main characters: a journalist (Abdel Wahab), a National Security officer (El Sawy), and a terrorist (Lotfy).
Lotfy, born on November 20, 1965, graduated in 1989 from the Arts Academy with a bachelor's degree in Acting and Directing.
He caught the eye of late cinema director Atef El Tayeb who believed in his talent and introduced him in the 1991 film "Demaa ala AL Asfalt" (Blood on the Asfalt).
Lotfy is best known for his roles in films and TV productions such as "122" (2019), "Gabal Al Halal" (2014), "A'd Tanazoly" (2014), "Hekayet Hayat" (2013), "Ma Sabek El Asrar" (2012), "Qadyet Safia" (2010), "Bent Men Shoubra" (2004), "Al-Hakika w Al-Sarab" (2003), and "Malak Ruwhi" (2003 ).
