Egyptian superstar Tamer Ashour has been tapped to perform the theme song of Egyptian actress Riham Hagag's upcoming star-studded TV series "Tawaba".
The drama consists of 15 episodes and reunites Hagag with the director of the 2025 TV series “Athena," Yahya Ismail.
Ismail directs the series from a script by Ayman Salama. Apple Media Production is the banner behind the project.
Along with Hagag, the series also stars Anoushka, Asma Abulyazeid, Hany Adel, Mohamed Alaa, and more.
"Tawaba" is set to screen on the "CBC" satellite TV channel and "Watch It" VOD during the Ramadan 2026 drama marathon.
Ashour, born on January 2, 1984, began his music career as a composer working with major contemporary musicians.
He released his album "Sa’ab" (Difficult) in 2006, which included material he’d recorded prior to 2006 as well as new music.
At the beginning of 2011, Ashour released the single "Lia Nazra", which achieved huge success both in cassette sales and on the internet. In the same year, he began military service. Upon completing his military service, he began working on his fourth album at the end of 2013.
Ashour released more than a dozen songs and 6 albums.
