Dr. Mostafa Waziri, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, and Mr. HU Muqing, Director of Shanghai Art Collections Museum in China, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).
In a speech delivered on this occasion, Dr. Waziri said the MoU comes within the framework of Tourism and Antiquities ministry's keenness to enhance cooperation and exchange experiences with various countries of the world in the field of archaeological and museum work.
He added that MoU will contribute significantly to the implementation of a long-term strategy in organizing temporary exhibitions, conducting research projects, and launching educational programs, which would develop museum work in both countries.
In addition, Dr. Waziri emphasized the depth of the Egyptian-Chinese relations, which extend back thousands of years, referring to the excavation work carried out by the Chinese archaeological mission in Luxor.
He also stressed that this MoU will further enhance cooperation during the coming period between Egypt and China in the field of museum work.
On his part, Director of the Shanghai Art Collections Museum, confirmed his happiness at signing MoU, which reflects depth of friendship and cooperation between both countries in the field of cultures and arts.
He also expressed his full appreciation for the efforts made to reach the signing of this memorandum and his hope to achieve the desired goal.
Furthermore, HU Muqing shed light on some aspects of cooperation between the museum and Egyptian institutions during recent times.
