Sudan FM Stresses Need to Reach Binding Agreement on GERD

Sudanese Foreign Minister (FM) Mariam al-Sadiq al-Mahdi underlined the need to find a comprehensive and satisfactory solution for all parties on the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD).

This came during al-Mahdi's meeting with Chairperson of the African Union (AU) Commission Moussa Faki, who is visiting Sudan, accompanied by a high-ranking delegation.

Moreover, Sudanese FM stressed the importance of reaching a legal and binding agreement for the filling and operation of the GERD, because of its direct link to the important and vital interests of Sudan.

On his part, Faki affirmed their readiness to provide any possible assistance to facilitate reaching an agreement between the parties.
