The spokesperson of the rebellious Front for Change and Concord in Chad (FACT) revealed on Sunday that the group is ready for ceasefire and political settlement in the state.

Kingabe Ogouzeimi de Tapol told Reuters: “FACT is ready to observe a ceasefire for a political settlement that respects the independence and sovereignty of Chad.”

The movement settled in Northern Chad since their battle against the Chadian forces headed by late President Idriss Deby.

Deby passed away after suffering deadly wounds during fights between the front and the national army as the front opposed Deby’s victory in elections.

The troops were 300 km from the capital N’Djamena. Shortly, they were pushed back after air forces attacks.
